Holiday Cheer

Now that it's officially December, I think it's acceptable to acknowledge my obsession with the holiday season. I love the warm sweaters, hot chocolate, and festivities that come with it. And while I don't officially celebrate Christmas, I love the spirit and 93.9 music that it brings. Honestly, I find this season magical. I mean, what other time of the year puts some people in such a mood that they will go out of their way to spend extra money to either donate or put towards their family? I put together a list of my favorite parts of the month of December.

The following are my favorite things of the holiday season:
  1. Observing Christmas lights like these
  2. The Starbucks cups and drinks
  3. Going to Florida with my family
  4. Wearing scarves and sweaters
  5. Eating lots and lots of food (specifically desserts)
  6. Spending quality time with the people that are important to me
What I love so dearly about the month of December is that despite the freezing temperatures, people find happiness. Families come together, gifts are given, and and special moments are created. Not to mention a break from school! However, sometimes I'm disappointed that this spirit only lasts for a month. I question why our world can't keep it up throughout the year and why only holidays put us in this cheerful mood? Surely, this is a complex question that would take some serious dissecting. So for now, I'll leave it up for me and my readers to ponder.
